Telecom insider Evan Blass has published a render of the Nexus 6. The render clearly shows that the device, which would be made by Motorola, shows similarities with the Moto X of that company.

From the leaked image, which Blass posted on Twitter – despite recently stating that he will stop publishing leaks – also reveals that the Nexus 6 appears to have a curved back. The Moto X, clearly the source of inspiration for the Nexus 6, has a similar rear. Furthermore, the device seems to have speakers on the front, again just like the Moto X.

Rumor has it that the Nexus 6 will be officially announced this week. According to the same rumors, the device will have a screen with a screen diagonal of 5.9 inches and a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. That would make it considerably larger than the Nexus 5. Furthermore, the Nexus 6 probably has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805-soc on board, as well as a camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels.

The device will run on the upcoming version of Android, which is currently only known as Android L. A test version of this version was released last summer. Android L will include a new runtime called ART, which should be faster than the Dalvik VM previously used to run Android apps. ART also introduces support for 64-bit instructions. Visually, Google has developed a new style called Material Design.
