A TRX50 motherboard from ASRock has been registered with the Eurasian Economic Commission. The motherboard, the ASRock TRX50 WS, is probably intended for AMD’s upcoming Threadripper 7000 processors, which have been rumored for some time.

The reference to TRX50 appeared in an EEC registration of ASRock, commented @Komachi_Ensaka. Companies there often register unannounced products at an early stage. It is not known when the TRX50 platform will appear, but the registration suggests it will happen soon.

TRX50 will probably be the successor to TRX40, the platform that AMD introduced for its current Threadripper 5000 processors. The specifications of the TRX50 platform are still unknown, but it is expected to support only DDR5 memory. The platform should also have PCIe 5.0 support. AMD’s current EPYC Genoa server processors, on which Threadripper 7000 is expected to be based, also support DDR5 and PCIe 5.0.

Rumors have been going around for some time about the arrival of AMD’s Threadripper 7000 series. The processors will be based on the Zen 4 architecture and will reportedly have a maximum of 96 cores; a Threadripper PRO 7995WX with 96 cores recently appeared online. It is not known when the chips will be announced.
