Ten million Raspberry Pis have been sold since the release of the first model 4.5 years ago. The manufacturer has announced this. The Raspberry Pi 3 will remain the most powerful model in the British manufacturer’s lineup for quite some time to come.

To celebrate the milestone, the company behind the computer boards is releasing a limited edition starter kit, containing a case, 8GB SD card and a book about the computer in addition to the Pi 3. The manufacturer calls the kit itself ‘unashamedly premium’ and charges 99 pounds, converted around 117 euros, for it.

The Pi 3 released earlier this year will remain the most expensive model for the foreseeable future, the manufacturer tells Wired. The few euros costing Pi Zero will remain the cheapest. The first Raspberry Pi came out 4.5 years ago.
