Problems due to Ubuntu patch again

After recent problems with an Ubuntu update that turned out not to be fully tested, another problem has now been found in the current Ubuntu ‘Dapper Drake’ version. The error this time occurs in conjunction with certain nVidia drivers and prevents the X server from booting. A working patch is now available and can be downloaded with ‘apt-get update’ and ‘apt-get upgrade’. However, it’s rather bad for the developer’s image that two pretty big short-term flaws appear in an Ubuntu version that wants to gain business trust, including the “Long Term Support” stamp that the distribution was given . This time too, the ‘Quality Assurance’ program seems to have failed badly, as the problem occurs on quite a few systems.
