Polar introduces its Vantage V3 smartwatch. This smart watch has, among other things, an AMOLED screen, a faster SoC and a built-in ECG, blood oxygen meter and skin temperature sensor. The Vantage V3 will be available for preorder for 599.90 euros.

The Polar Vantage V3 has several new sensors compared to its predecessor, including an ECG sensor that allows users to take an electrocardiogram. The Vantage V3 also has a sensor that measures oxygen saturation in the blood, in addition to a sensor that measures the user’s skin temperature. The optical heart rate sensor is said to be 25 percent more accurate than before, the manufacturer claims.

The smartwatch uses Polar’s biosensing technology, called Elixir. According to the manufacturer, this technology measures and analyzes users’ biological data, such as the aforementioned heart rate, ECG and blood oxygen levels. Based on this, users receive insights and personalized sports advice.

The Vantage V3 also has a 1.39″ touchscreen with AMOLED panel, dual-frequency GPS and offline maps for navigation, for example while running. The SoC used is said to be ‘129 percent faster’ than that in the V2 from 2020, according to claims the manufacturer. However, it is not clear exactly which chip Polar uses in the new smartwatch. The company only mentions a clock speed of 275MHz. The watch will have 37MB of memory and 32GB of storage. Polar also claims that the battery of the Vantage V3 is 41 percent larger. is than that of the V2. That battery should last ‘up to 53 hours’ when GPS and the heart rate sensor are used. The Vantage V3 works with standard 22mm watch straps without an adapter.

The Polar Vantage V3 is now available for preorder for 599.90 euros. The watch can also be supplied in a bundle with the Polar H10 heart rate monitor. That set costs 649.90 euros. The smartwatch will be delivered from October 25.
