Phanteks denies that its D30 fans infringe on a patent owned by Lian Li. The latter announced on Wednesday that it is suing Phanteks for this, but according to the D30 maker it is an original idea.

“We consulted with patent lawyers during the development and before the presentation of the D30 fans and this revealed that the fans do not infringe the patent,” says Phanteks according to TechPowerUp. “Phanteks D30 fans are an original idea, for which patents have been granted in several countries.”

Phanteks’ D30 RGB fans can be connected to each other without loose cables thanks to a compact connector. This system is similar to Lian Li’s cableless connector in the UNI fans. Lian Li has obtained a patent on its cordless fans and says Phanteks is infringing on this patent. Lian Li therefore wants compensation and a ban on the sale of the D30 fans. It’s about the patent US 10,690,336 B1.
