Parent company Fiat, Opel and Peugeot announces 800V platform for larger EVs

Fiat, Opel and Peugeot parent company Stellantis announces the STLA Large Platform for medium and large electric cars, based on a 400V or 800V architecture. The first eight vehicles based on the platform will be released between 2024 and 2026.

The modular STLA Large Platform systems have a maximum range of 800km and a charging efficiency of 4.5kWh per minute for the 800V variant. According to the company vehicles based on the relevant platform can achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h within roughly 2 seconds. Such vehicles can be between 476 and 513cm long and between 190 and 203cm wide. The wheelbase can be made between 287 and 308cm. The platform supports front and rear wheel drive, or a combination thereof. The platform supports battery capacities of between 85 and 118kWh.

The STLA Large Platform is intended for electric vehicles in segments D and E. Stellantis mentions SUVs, large passenger vehicles and crossovers. The first brands with vehicles based on the Large platform will enter the market between 2024 and 2026, starting with Dodge and Jeep. Later, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler and Maserati will come with a vehicle based on the STLA Large Platform. A total of eight EVs from the mentioned brands are in the pipeline. The Large Platform is part of the overarching STLA product line, consisting of the STLA Small, Medium, Large and Frame variants.
