Microsoft studio Obsidian Entertainment has released a demo of Grounded on Steam and for Xbox Insiders. The demo contains 30 minutes of gameplay and will be playable through Monday, June 22. The game will be released through Early Access on July 28.

The Grounded demo is available for download via Steam for all interested parties. Xbox owners must have access to the Xbox Insiders Hub to try the console version. According to the description, players can experience ‘a day in the backyard’ in the demo. Only the single player part is playable.

Grounded was announced last year. The survival game seems to be inspired by the movie Honey I shrunk the kids. In the role of ant-sized children, players must survive in the backyard among a variety of large insects. The game will also feature a four-player multiplayer mode.

It was previously announced that Grounded will be released in Early Access on July 28. The game is also part of the Game Pass subscription for Xbox and PC. The game was created by Obsidian Entertainment, the most recent title from that studio being The Outer Worlds. Obsidian was acquired by Microsoft in 2018.
