Nintendo is working on Mario movie and Mario Kart game for smartphones

Nintendo is in the process of making a Mario movie and a Mario Kart game for smartphones. The last game in the franchise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, came out for the Switch console last year. Nintendo is also working on a Mario movie.

Nintendo has not released any further details about the game. Mario Kart Tour will be released between April this year and March next year, Nintendo management said in a review of financial results.

It is the first time that Nintendo would release a Mario Kart game for smartphones. The Japanese game maker has been developing apps and games for smartphones for several years now. For example, Miitomo was released earlier, an application that the company will stop this year. A year ago, the first Mario game for smartphones came out, Super Mario Run.

Nintendo is also working with film distributor Universal on a movie starring Mario. For this, the company works together with the American Illumination. No details are known about the film, such as what it will be about and when it will be released.
