Netflix turns La casa de papel and The Queen’s Gambit into mobile games
Netflix announces new games for streaming service subscribers. There will be games based on the series La casa de papel and The Queen’s Gambit. Several existing games are also coming to Netflix, including Spiritfarer and Raji: An Ancient Epic.
La casa de papel is a single player game with the same title as the series. Netflix describes it as an action-adventure game in which players have to crack safes, break locks or help rob a casino in Monaco.
The Queen’s Gambit Chess is a chess game featuring locations from the series. The game offers chess lessons, puzzles and competitions against “famous faces from the series”. It is also possible to play online against others.
The games are part of Netflix Games and therefore part of all Netflix subscriptions. Members can play the games on iOS and Android devices. It is not yet known when the games will be released.
Netflix also announces that various other games will be added to Netflix Games. This concerns, for example, Spiritfarer and Raji: An Ancient Epic. Those games were previously not available for mobile devices, but appeared for consoles and PC. Also Desta: The Memories Betweenthe new game from Monuments Valley creator ustwo games, is coming to Netflix.
Netflix made the announcements during the Games Showcase of his Geeked Week† It also featured new footage from numerous series around games, including The Cuphead Show, Sonic Prime, Castlevania: Nocturne and DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. Netflix also announced a Dragon Age animated series.
