Developer Ghost Games has announced that an update for Need For Speed will be released on March 3, which will add a drag race mode and two Hot Rods. The update also brings the previously promised function to manually switch to the racing game.

The free update adds two Hot Rods. It concerns the Ford 1932 Hot Rod, which can be equipped with four different body kits, with which the appearance of the oldtimer can be adjusted. The second model is the Aaron Beck ‘BeckKustoms F132’, which is equipped with a Nascar engine. Both cars can be extensively customized in the game.

Furthermore, the update adds Drag Events to the game. The developer says these are inspired by drag racing from previous Need For Speed games. In the Underground series, these races played an important role. Five different drag racing events will be available in the game: Neck to Neck, The Perfect Shifts, Drag the Town, Pedal to the Metal and Speed Tunnel.

The update also brings three new Achievements and Throphies, and the players’ virtual garage will be expanded so that they can store five extra cars. The update will be available on March 3 for Need For Speed on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. EA will also release the game for PC on March 15. That version will then immediately be provided with all updates.
