Some details of AMD’s upcoming RDNA2 GPUs for desktops have surfaced. The company will probably come with Navi 21 and Navi 23 GPUs based on its new architecture. The company is also working on a refresh of its current Navi 10 video cards.

The details come from Hardwareleaks, Twitter user’s new website _rogame. Here he shares the alleged sku’s of the new chips, among other things. For example, he believes that AMD will come with a Navi 21 GPU, among other things. This chip was initially known as ‘Big Navi’.

According to Hardwareleaks, the Navi 21 GPU has a die size of 505mm². To illustrate: the current RX 5700XT based on the Navi 10 GPU has a 251 mm². The Navi 21 GPU will also probably get 80 compute units, which together account for 5120 cores. That is a doubling compared to the 5700XT, which has 40 cu’s and 2560 cores. _Rogame, however, states that these specifications have not yet been confirmed. AMD has previously confirmed that the performance per watt of RDNA2 is up to 50 percent better compared to its current Navi 10 GPUs.

AMD is coming with four Navi 21 video cards for gaming, according to _rogame. The Navi 21 XTX would be similar to the RX 5700XT 50th Anniversary, while the Navi 21 XT GPU would succeed the RX 5700XT. The Navi 21 XL will be placed in the same segment as the RX 5700, while the Navi 21 XE will be similar to the RX 5600XT. The company is also expected to release Pro variants for workstations, and Apple is expected to get four Navi 21 variants, which are expected to be used in the Mac Pro and a new iMac refresh.

The chip manufacturer is also expected to come with a Navi 23 GPU, which will be about the same die size as the current Navi 10 GPUs. These cards do use the RDNA2 architecture, so are expected to outperform the current Navi 10 cards. However, Hardware Leaks does not yet have names for these chips.

_Rogame also shared some details about AMD’s upcoming Navi 10 refresh. AMD itself has already confirmed that the company is working on this. According to _rogame, the lineup will consist of the Navi 10 XT+, the Navi 10 XM+ and the Navi 10 XTE+. These GPUs respectively replace the RX 5700XT, the RX 5600M and the RX 5600 XT. It is not yet clear how these chips will be positioned against the upcoming RDNA2 GPUs.

More concrete specifications about AMD’s GPU lineup for 2020 have not yet been announced. It is known that AMD will not provide its RDNA2 reference cards with a blower cooler. In addition, AMD has confirmed that the graphics cards are planned for the end of 2020.
