MSI is showing off its new Vector HX, Crosshair HX and Pulse AI laptops at CES in Las Vegas. These notebooks will all be available with 16″ and 17″ screens, and will have an RTX 40 GPU as standard. MSI does not share release dates or suggested retail prices.

The Vector HX models are the highest positioned among these three 16″ and 17″ series. The laptops have a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 240Hz, in the case of both the Vector 16 HX and the Vector 17HX. MSI talks about a screen in the ‘IPS class’ that can display 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.

The two Vector HX laptops also both get a Core i9-14900HX CPU with 24 cores and 32 threads, and come with a GeForce RTX 4060, 4070 or 4080 GPU. The notebooks also have two DDR5-SO-DIMM slots and come with up to 64GB of memory. The laptops also have a 90Wh battery and are supplied with a 280 or 330W charger. They support Wi-Fi 7 and ‘up to 2.5Gbit/s Ethernet’. The laptop has two M.2 slots for SSDs: one with a PCIe 5.0 interface and one with PCIe 4.0.

Crosshair HX with Core i7-14700HX and up to RTX 4070

MSI is also launching Crosshair HX laptops in 16″ and 17″. Compared to the Vector HX series, these notebooks have an IPS screen with a lower resolution: 2560×1440 pixels. The refresh rate of 240Hz remains the same. The laptops have a lower-positioned Core i7-14700HX CPU, which has 20 cores and 28 threads.

The laptop comes with an RTX 4060 or 4070; the RTX 4080 is not an option in the Crosshair HX series. Up to Wi-Fi 6E and Gigabit Ethernet are also supported. The battery capacity is again 90Wh, although the included charger can deliver a maximum of 240W. This laptop also has two M.2 slots for SSDs, one with a PCIe 5.0 interface and one with 4.0.

Pulse AI series gets Intel Meteor Lake chip

Finally, MSI is introducing a Pulse AI series, which will also be available with a 16″ or 17″ screen. That screen also offers a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 240Hz. The Pulse series will have an Intel Core 9 Ultra 185H CPU, which is based on the Meteor Lake architecture. This processor has 16 cores and 22 threads, and has an integrated NPU for AI calculation tasks.

The Pulse AI laptops can be equipped with an RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 GPU. The laptop again has two M.2 slots, although those in the Pulse AI series both have a PCIe 4.0 interface. The 90Wh battery is also charged with 240W in the Pulse AI.
