Monster stops making Beats headsets
Manufacturer Monster will probably stop making headsets that it released with Beats. There would be disagreements about the distribution of income. However, both companies say there is no dispute.
According to BusinessWeek to care the financial disagreements prevented Beats from renewing Monster’s contract to manufacture the headsets. A five-year contract was signed, which expires this year. According to unspecified sources, Beats would not agree to the portion of the headset sales revenue it will receive.
Beats, of which rapper Dr. Dre is the face and co-owner, releasing its earbuds and headsets under its own name. Now that the contract with Monster is not renewed, it will have to look for another manufacturer to make the products. The rights to use the audio technology and design of the headsets remain with Beats. Sample announced at the CES electronics show, a series of earbuds and headsets without Beats.
Beats recently entered into an agreement with HTC. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer supplies Beats earbuds with some of its high-end smartphones. HTC invested an amount of around 210 million euros in the company.
