Microsoft wants to replace the Windows Calendar and Mail apps in 2024 with the updated version of the Outlook app. All Windows 11 devices released from next year will come with the new app as standard.

Microsoft announces this in a post on his support website. The Calendar and Mail apps are still usable and can be downloaded until the end of 2024. A toggle will be available in both apps that will allow users to try out the preview version of the new Outlook app, which was released last April.

A year ago, the new Outlook app became available as a beta for Windows Insiders. The app introduces AI functions, calendar integration and support for multiple mail accounts from different services, such as Gmail and Yahoo.
