Disneyland Paris is launching a new daytime parade: for the first time in 10 years

Disneyland Paris is known for its attractions, but of course also for its parades. The evening show with the projection on Sleeping Beauty Castle is of course beautiful, but there are also parades that you can watch during the day. They have been the same for a long time, but for the first time in 10 years there will now be a new day parade in which ‘hypermodern’ cars are used. And there’s more news coming to the theme park.

New parade at Disneyland Paris

The daytime parade includes Genie from Aladdin, Jasmine from Aladdin, Tiana from Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel from Rapunzel and Miguel from Coco. The costumes, music and parade floats would take the parade to a higher level, Disney says. There is also news about Space Mountain: it goes back to its roots. When it opened in 1995 it was a completely different experience than it is now. That’s going to change, because it’s going back to what it was. Count on a retrofuturic environment based on the book by Jules Vernes (From the Earth to the Moon). The 22 meter long ‘launch’ from the Columbiad cannon is still there. It just no longer has Star Wars decor, but goes back to De la Terre à la Lune. Includes the music of Steve Bramson, in a remastered version.

Lion King themed world

A Lion King themed world has been under construction for a year now and now a new animatronic has been announced in the form of the villain of the piece: Scar. There will also be animatronics of Timon, Pumbaa and Simba, plus a water attraction in which Scar will of course make it as difficult as possible for Simba to become the ruler of the Pride Lands. The theme world will be quite large at 30,000 square meters, representing the heart of the African savannah. The water attraction is there, then a restaurant, a shop and a meeting place for figures. The attraction has three descents, culminating in a 16-meter descent from Pride Rock. Disney said: “Creating an authentic African savannah in France poses unique challenges for Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. For example, European trees are carefully pruned and shaped to mimic the characteristic flat silhouettes of acacias, which cannot grow in the French climate. Animal footprints are also placed in the sun-baked savannah soil to resemble wild animals. have crossed the area long before the first guests arrive.” It is unknown when it will open, but rumors say it will be in 2028. Disneyland Paris has also just opened a new region, namely the world of Frozen. Last weekend D23 announced that there will be a third Frozen film in which Olaf gets a girlfriend, Anna gets married and a new villain appears.
