Twitch streamer Félix Lengyel, aka xQc, has signed a $100 million contract to stream on Kick, a Twitch competitor. For this he must stream on that platform for two years. However, he may still broadcast on other platforms during that period.

Under the contract, xQc, who has nearly 12 million followers on Twitch, is guaranteed $35 million a year from streaming on Kick. In addition, there are additional goals that, if achieved, could increase the total amount to 100 million, according to The New York Times, who learned that information from his manager. Further details about his contract, such as how often he has to stream on Kick, are not known.

This not only makes this the largest contract for a streamer ever, but one of the largest deals in entertainment history. According to the Wikipedia list of the largest sports contracts, this contract would rank twelve based on the average amount per year. By comparison: LeBron James signed last year a two-year contract with the LA Lakers for $97.1 million.

Kick launched last year and is funded by a number of Australian gambling companies, including Stake and Easygo Gaming. Gambling streams are therefore heavily promoted on Kick, while Twitch tightened its gambling policy considerably last year and banned most gambling streams. Kick also promises that all streamers will be allowed to keep 95 percent of the total revenue from subscriptions, while the revenue split for most Twitch streamers is only 50/50.
