Microsoft appears to be working on a change to Global Media Controls. The relatively large pop-up that appears at the top left of the screen when, for example, pausing Spotify, is replaced by a small window in the bottom right corner.

The changed appearance of Global Media Controls in Windows 10 has been noticed by Albacore. He shows that after an adjustment Windows 10 displays the information about the music that the OS plays along with the media controls and the volume at the bottom right, along with the time and date. According to the Twitter user, the feature works in conjunction with the same apps as the previous implementation, including Spotify. The display is a lot less present than Windows 10’s current media controls, which show a fairly large pop-up, often covering a significant part of the display in the top left corner.

According to Albacore, Windows 10 also contains a new page that shows what’s new is after updates that bring new features to the OS. This can then be found at the Update & security page of the settings. The parts can be clicked for more information about a new function. And last but not least found Tero Alhonen a list of Windows names in the OS that appear to confirm that the upcoming update will appear as Windows 10 May 2020 Update. The next update is referenced in the list as “Windows 10 (Manganese)”
