Microsoft has made improvements to four Xbox 360 games for the Xbox One X. Players can now play Fable Anniversary, Crackdown, Forza Horizon and The Witcher 2 in high resolution in the Xbox 360 emulator on the Xbox One X.

The enhanced games are part of Microsoft’s Backward Compatibility program. Since the release of the Xbox One X, the company has patched some old Xbox 360 games that make it possible to play the games in 4k resolution. As a result, the games look better than the original, without being an actual remaster.

Microsoft is now adding the four new games and in addition there will be an option in the menu, where players can choose the improved graphics or the original display. By default, the setting is enhanced graphics. The resolution is “nine times higher” than the original Xbox 360 game. Games that originally ran at 1280×720 pixels, do so on the One X in 3840×2160 pixels. Furthermore, the improvements consist of better texture filtering and antialiasing.

There were already seven Xbox 360 games that are playable with improved graphics on the Xbox One X. These were Assassin’s Creed, Halo 3, Fallout 3, Mirror’s Edge, Skate 3, Gears of War 3 and Oblivion.
