Microsoft advises companies not to use Internet Explorer again

Microsoft has put a blog post online explaining why it is unwise to continue using Internet Explorer. The advice applies to companies that are still forced to use the outdated browser.

In a post posted to Microsoft’s Tech Community, contributor Chris Jackson explains the problem with Internet Explorer; because the browser is no longer supported, it creates a lot of technical debt for companies. Keeping browser techniques backwards compatible ensures that web standards from 1999 can still be used by working via Internet Explorer, according to Jackson.

Microsoft switched to the Edge browser some time ago, but the company notices that companies in particular still stick to Internet Explorer, which does not support other browsers or force traffic through Internet Explorer. According to Jackson, this is a practice that must stop. This is not only about obsolescence, but in the future more and more applications will not work, because more and more developers do not take Internet Explorer into account.

Although Internet Explorer is still used by many companies as the default browser, Chrome has become increasingly popular among employees in recent years.
