Publisher Deep Silver reports that Metro Exodus includes a photo mode. It allows players to take a photo at any point in the game. The functionality is included with all versions of the game, and the PC version includes integration with Ansel, Nvidia’s photo tool.

End producer Jon Bloch tells PCGamer that the photo mode is “one of the most requested features from the community.” “Photo modes are relatively rare in first-person shooters, but the team was determined to integrate the functionality well and give Metro fans the opportunity to capture their own stories in the Russian wasteland,” Bloch explains.

The PC version offers integration with Nvidia’s Ansel, a tool that has been available since 2016 for the appropriate video cards from the manufacturer. Ansel allows the user to take in-game photos. In addition, it includes a suite of various photo editing options, including composing 360-degree photos.

Metro Exodus is the sequel to 2013’s Metro Last Light. The story picks up at one of the endings of Last Light and starts two years after that ending. Metro Exodus will be released on February 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
