LG puts curved 105″ UHDTV on presale

LG has started presale of its curved UHDTV with a 105″ screen in its home country of South Korea. South Koreans have to pay more than 70,000 euros for the television with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Due to the 21:9 aspect ratio, the resolution is higher than with some other UHDTVs. The resolution is 5120×2160 pixels, where many UHDTVs stick to 3840×2160 pixels. It is a curved LCD with a diagonal 105 “, about 2.66 m. The screen is therefore just over a meter high and almost 2.5 meters wide.

LG has equipped the TV with speakers that, according to the manufacturer, can deliver up to 150W, while the TV runs on LG’s own WebOS platform to enable smart TV applications. According to the manufacturer, the large television is mainly intended to have a ‘cinema experience’ at home.

The TV is anything but cheap: the manufacturer asks converted more than 70,000 euros for a copy. It has been on presale in South Korea since this week and will also come to other countries at the end of this year. LG does not say which countries that will be.

Samsung presented a TV with the same screen diagonal and resolution at CES. That TV, the UN105S9W, costs converted at 90,000 euros and is for sale in the United States.
