LG gives its new top model, the G4, a new interface. The company has announced that. LG UX 4.0 should, in LG’s words, respond better to the wishes of the user. It is the first time that LG confirms the existence of the G4.

LG’s own interface layer on top of Android should provide a “personalized user experience”, LG reports. For example, LG UX, as LG calls its interface layer, should give users personalized notifications about, for example, the weather and his travel schedule. For example, if a user often runs, the operating system may advise him to run because the weather is suitable for it. It is unknown whether users should actively enable that feature or whether it is enabled by default.

The South Korean company has also updated the camera app. Users can immediately start the camera app by pressing a button on the back, even when the display is off. In addition, the camera app now has three modes, which ensure that the phone takes on most of the work or that the photographer has to do most of the setting work. Furthermore, LG’s new flagship model groups photos based on location and time and the operating system generates a unique ringtone for each contact in the address book.

The interface will come first to the G4, which LG will present later this month. It is the first time LG has mentioned the G4 by name, although it is no secret that the company will announce the phone later this month. It is not yet known when LG UX 4.0 will make its way to other smartphone models.
