Intel releases passively cooled NUC mini PC

Intel has added a NUC with fanless cooling to its range. The model is intended for the business market and features a single core Atom without support for HyperThreading.

The processor of the NUC Kit DE3815TYKHE, which FanlessTech found on the Intel site, is the Atom E3815, which contains a single core running at 1.46GHz and has a tdp of 5W. There is a so-dimm slot for ddr3 memory with a maximum of 8GB on board, as well as a 4GB emmc module for storage options. The storage can be expanded with a 2.5″ HDD or SSD.

In addition, there is a USB 3.0 port, two 2.0 variants, Gigabit Ethernet port, VGA, embedded display port and HDMI. There is also the option of using PCI-e mini-cards, with the limitation that they are half-length cards. The dimensions of the model are 190x116x40mm. Intel focuses on use in point-of-sale systems and for thin client applications.
