In addition to subscriptions, users of paid servers on Discord can also make one-time purchases on the platform. These will be available in a new Server Shop alongside various other options.

As examples of digital one-time purchases mentions Discord e-books for recipes, game guides and wallpapers, for example. This way, users can support creators in another way besides taking out a subscription. There will also be an option for a Premium Role, which gives users exclusive access.

Discord is also adding the option for Media Channels, which allows users to see exclusive videos, photos and files that server owners upload there. The intention is that they are only accessible to paying members of a server.

The options for, among other things, Downloadables, as Discord calls the one-time purchases, and Premium Roles come in a Server Shop, where server owners can offer their digital purchases. It is unclear when the functions will be available.
