HP unveils 1.13kg business 14″ EliteBook

HP will announce the new EliteBook 840 Aero G8 at CES. The business 14 “laptop weighs 1.13 kilograms and gets Intel Tiger Lake processors. The laptop should be on the market in March.

HP’s new business laptop features a 14″ display with a 1920×1080 resolution, an 11th Gen Intel processor with a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 and optional vPro, up to 64GB DDR4-3200 memory and up to 2TB NVMe SSD storage.Users can also choose between three different 14-inch FHD-IPS displays, which differ in brightness: a 400-nit panel, a 250-nit panel with low power and touch options, and a 1000-nit privacy screen that the viewing angle is reduced to prevent prying eyes, and the Aero G8 features Wi-Fi 6 over 802.11ax and an optional Intel xmm-7360 lte or Qualcomm Snapdragon x55 5G modem.

The takeoff weight is 1.13kg. According to HP, this is mainly achieved by a magnesium chassis and a 53Wh battery. The laptop can be heavier if it is expanded with, for example, a smart card, or if the privacy screen is chosen. The Aero has the same ports as the regular HP 840 G8: two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, two USB 3.1 Gen1 connections, an HDMI port, an audio jack, a nano-SIM slot and an optional card reader.

The EliteBook 840 Aero G8 isn’t the only laptop HP is announcing around CES. It also comes with a redesigned Elite Dragonfly G2 that weighs about a kilo, a 14-inch Envy 14 with 16:10 display and the business Elitebook x360 1030 G8, an Elitebook x360 1040 G8 and Elite x2 G8.
