Publisher Take-Two says GTA V’s shipments have passed 150 million. This brings the number of copies delivered this year to 10 million. The GTA franchise is now good for 350 million games delivered.

In May, GTA V delivered 145 million copies and early this year, Take-Two said Rockstar’s game had reached the 140 million delivered milestone by 2020. At the presentation of the quarterly figures, Take-Two now announces that this number stands at more than 150 million.

Last year 20 million copies of the game were delivered. This year, the game is on track to reach or exceed that number again. So far, 10 million copies have been delivered and the game will be released again for the new consoles on November 11. Along with that enhanced version of GTA V for the Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5, a standalone version of GTA Online will also be available.

It is not yet clear which improvements the ‘next-gen’ version of GTA V will receive. Rockstar has already announced that some cars in GTA Online will get a higher top speed on the new consoles. This is possible because the game world can be loaded faster.

Take-Two also provides updates on other franchises. For example, 38 million copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been delivered and the Borderlands franchise has reached 71 million copies. These are small increases compared to the numbers presented by the publisher in May.

More than 11 million copies of Civilization VI have been shipped to date. With that, the game does better than its predecessor in the same time frame, says Take-Two. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise. The first Civilization game was released in September 1991.

Take-Two had revenue of $839.4 million in the quarter. That is 10 percent more than in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue from ‘recurring expenses’, such as DLC and microtransactions, accounted for 67 percent of sales. The publisher mentions NBA 2K21, NBA 2K20, GTA Online, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 as the first games that contribute the most to sales. Take-Two does not disclose sales figures per game.
