Google will stop its Poly service on June 30, 2021. This is a platform on which developers can share 3D objects, which can then be viewed and edited in AR and VR. The option to upload 3D objects will stop two months earlier.

As of June 30, the Poly website can no longer be visited, Google reports. The corresponding APIs, which allow developers to process the Poly database in their own apps, will also no longer work from that date. From April 30, the possibility to upload new content to the Poly service will stop.

Users have until June 30 to download Poly objects. This can be done, for example, via the Poly website, by visiting the pages of individual objects. The company reports that users can also download their entire Poly collection at once from a separate ‘Google Takeout’ website.

Google Poly was introduced in November 2017 as a platform to share 3D objects
