Google stops selling and supporting business version Google Glass
Google has stopped selling the business version of its Google Glass AR glasses. The Enterprise Edition 2 has been out of sale since this week. The support for the glasses will continue for another six months.
Glasses will continue to work after September 15, but companies will no longer be able to get replacements. says Google. Apps can still receive updates, but Google has no more system updates planned for the glasses. It is unknown how many copies Google has sold and how many are still in circulation. It is unknown why Google is closing it. It is experimenting with different AR glasses.
Google stopped selling Glass to consumers in 2015 and support ended in 2019. There were two models of the business version, the most recent of which is the Enterprise Edition 2, which will be released in 2019. The first Explorer Edition of the glasses came ten out years ago.
