Google has released its May Update for Pixel smartphones. With the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, this update should strengthen the haptic feedback. After going through the March Update, some users noted that vibrations were too weak to feel notifications and calls.

The May Update includes “improvements for haptic feedback in certain circumstances,” writes Google. That change only applies to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Users of those phones noticed that vibrations had weakened after the March Update went through. It is not clear whether that change was made on purpose.

Users who want to keep the attenuated vibrations can turn down the strength of the haptic feedback in the settings. Google will gradually release the May Update for Pixel smartphones starting with the Pixel 3 in the coming weeks.

The update should fix an issue with all Pixel smartphones where the screen turns on without interacting with the user. Also, the update should fix an issue where the launcher crashes in certain circumstances after restarting the device.
