Gigabeam is on the way with WiFiber

A new company from the United States has entered the market with a wireless alternative to a fiber optic connection. In places where it is too expensive to install a fiber optic cable or where this can take too much time WiFi access to offer a solution. The product works with radio frequencies between 71 and 95GHz with which speeds of one gigabit per second can be achieved. A connection requires an obstacle-free airspace, a heavy rain shower can throw a spanner in the works. However, light rain or fog is not a problem. Quickly connecting to the neighbor across the street via WiFiber, however, will not work for most people. Currently, a set of radios has to pay 30,000 dollars.
