The first official game of the Paralympics will be called The Pegasus Dream Tour. The game is being developed by Hajime Tabata, who is best known for his work on Final Fantasy XV. It is not yet known when the game will be released.

The International Paralympics Committee hopes that, with the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in sight, the game will increase the popularity of the Games. The Pegasus Dream Tour is JP Games’ first title and will be a role-playing sports game in which players compete in virtual versions of the Paralympic Games in the fictional metropolis of Pegasus City. Players will be able to summon special powers, but what those powers are is not yet known. JP Games says the game is planned to be released on various devices, including smartphones. The IPC intends to appeal to a younger target group with the game.

The title will become the first official Paralympic Games game. A series of Olympic Games games have previously been released, including the ‘Mario & Sonic’ series, as well as official titles such as ‘London 2012’.

It is the first game JP Games is developing after Hajime Tabata left Square Enix five months ago to found the studio. Tabata is best known for his work on Final Fantasy XV, but he left unexpectedly six months after getting a new studio. Square Enix then had to cancel all remaining scheduled DLC for the game. Tabata said in a stream that he was ready for a new project after Final Fantasy.
