Spread the love

Synology has released a new version of Disk Station Manager. Synology DSM is the management software that runs on various NAS products from the company. The Disk and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. Additional packages can be installed to allow the device to function as a media server, home automation server, web server, print server or backup server, for example. The possibilities are endless.

To install version 7.2, at least version 7.1 must be present. Furthermore, it is only suitable for NAS models with a type number ending in 16 or higher. Version 7.1 is the last update for models ending in 13, 14 or 15. For the other conditions and the various downloads, see this page. In version 7.2 we find support for Write Once folders, volumes can be encrypted and there are more options regarding the use of M.2 NVMe SSDs. Two issues have been resolved in this release.
