The stable version of Firefox for Android will receive add-on support in two weeks. The browser once had that, but in recent years there have been a limited number of extensions available for the mobile browser.

Open extensions will be available from December 14th and there will be 400 compatible extensions available, reports Mozilla. Add-on makers must designate their software as mobile-enabled to ensure it’s installable on Firefox for Android.

The mobile browser received a major upgrade in 2020 but then lost compatibility with all extensions. Then nine extensions returned after release. In a roundabout way, it remained possible to install add-ons on the Nightly version of the Android version of Firefox.
