Facebook takes over studio of The Order: 1886 and VR game Lone Echo

Facebook has acquired Ready at Dawn and the studio will become part of Oculus Studios. Ready at Dawn continues to work on Lone Echo II, the fourth title for the studio’s Oculus headsets, for now.

Ready at Dawn continues to operate independently from its offices in the US cities of Irvine and Portland despite being incorporated into Oculus Studios, according to Facebook. The studio will focus on VR content and as part of Facebook can directly use new VR techniques that Oculus is developing, or so the idea.

Ready at Dawn has already released three titles for the Oculus headsets: Lone Echo, Echo Arena and Echo Combat. The studio is currently working on Lone Echo II. It should have already appeared, but due to the new coronavirus, Ready at Dawn was forced to postpone the release. Facebook especially praises the innovative way of locomotion in the sci-fi game Lone Echo.

The studio released games for the PlayStation Portable in the past and was responsible for the PlayStation exclusively developed The Order: 1886.
