The Chinese manufacturer Doogee will come next year with a smartphone that has a curved screen. That’s what Evan Blass says on his Twitter account @evleaks. In addition, he also shows two photos of the curved screen, which has an 18.5:9 ratio.

The photos only show the flexible screen, without housing. So it is not yet clear to what extent Doogee’s smartphone will be curved. According to @evleaks It is a device with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other specifications are not yet known.

Doogee will probably use an OLED panel, because this screen type is easy to bend. The screen ratio of 18.5:9 corresponds to the ratio of the screens in the Samsung Galaxy S8 phones, but whether Samsung will also provide the screen is unknown.

Smartphones with curved screens are not new. Samsung made the Galaxy Round in 2013, which has a curvature across the width. LG came out with its first G Flex smartphone in 2014, with a curvature along the length. A year later LG came up with the G Flex2, but since then no new smartphones with curved screens have appeared.
