Epic Games has opened its online game store. The company announced earlier this week that it was opening that store. Initially, the offer is still very limited, but according to Epic that will change.

In addition to Epic’s own Fortnite and Unreal Tournament, both of which are free, the Epic Games store includes some third-party games. These include Hades from Supergiant Games, Ashen from Annapurna/A44 and Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek from tinyBuild. Hades is a dungeon crawler that is offered in early access and will receive monthly updates until its release in 2019.

Epic reports that the store will have a free game every two weeks throughout 2019. The first is Subnautica, which will be available from December 14 to 27, followed by Super Meat Boy, from December 28 to January 10.

The game company emphasizes that publishers keep 88 percent of sales through the store, compared to 70 percent that competitors would pay out. With this, Epic is trying to compete with the market leader Steam.
