The e-mail program Incredimail stops. As of March 20, the service’s desktop application will no longer be usable, and users will no longer be able to receive and send messages there. The company says there is no longer a need for the service it offered.

“As of March 20, 2020, we will close our servers,” developer Perion writes on its website. Perion started Incredimail over twenty years ago. This mainly focused on enriching e-mails with smileys and other ‘visual animations’. “We started an email platform because we believed the email experience should be beautiful, fun and make people smile,” the creator writes. Now that the communication market is filled with social media platforms and instant messengers, Perion says Incredimail is obsolete. The company wants to focus on areas “more relevant to current communication usage.”

The company says that from March 20, users will no longer be able to receive or send emails in the program, as well as view them. The same goes for contacts and attachments. “In some cases,” some features may still work, Perion says, but that’s “substantially less reliable.” The company no longer offers support and customer service. The company recommends that customers find a new email service and migrate their data there. Incredimail claims to have four million customers.
