Developer Frontier Development has announced that Elite Dangerous: Horizons is also coming to Xbox One. The expansion on Elite Dangerous will come “soon”, according to Frontier, but a more specific period than “in the second quarter of 2016”, the studio does not give.

With the space mmog expansion, Planetary Landings, Loot, Crafting, and Multicrew gameplay are coming to Elite: Dangerous on console. Michael Gapper, Frontier Developments communications manager, made the announcement in an email.

The expansion will make it possible for players to land from space anywhere a player chooses, on planets simulated at their actual size. According to Gapper, this pushes the Xbox One hardware to the limit.

Elite Dangerous: Horizons also introduces the Engineers class. The engineers enable crafting and other customization of spacecraft, among other things.

Upcoming updates, or “seasons,” of Elite Dangerous will be released simultaneously for both PC and Xbox One. This season, issue 2.1, costs 33.99 euros for PC. After this spring season comes the summer of ‘Guardians’, the fall of ‘The Commanders’ and an undisclosed season with serial number 2.4.
