E Ink Showcases Suitcase And Sleep Tracker With Electronic Ink Screen

At CES, E Ink showed a suitcase from Rimowa and a sleep tracker from Withings that are provided with electronic ink with its screens. The screen on the suitcase can show the check-in tag and can be adjusted with a smartphone.

The screen of electronic ink is incorporated in the Rimowa case next to the handle. Passengers can check in their luggage from home or on the road via the airline’s app. Then the check-in tag is sent to the screen via bluetooth. Lufthansa, among others, will support the possibility.

In addition, E Ink showed an activity and sleep tracker with a circular 1.1″ E-Ink screen. The Withings is intended for fitness applications and should distinguish itself with its long battery life: the wearable can function for eight months on a single button cell. the Go is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters.

The wearable keeps track of the distance you travel, how many steps you have taken and how many calories you use during your activities. The price is $70 and the Go will be released in the US in January.
