Driver update: VIA AC’97 5.30c

Via has installed new AC97 drivers on VIA Arena for motherboards equipped with one of the following chipsets: VT82C686A, VT82C686B, VT8231, VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237 southbridges or a VIA Six-TRAC. The following changes can be made from the release notes:

WDM:

• Changed the Microsoft std. mixer’s topology. Added Master Volume control and moved Front, Surround, Center/LFE volume controls to new created destination line.
• Fixed the bug called “CD volume control on Microsoft std. mixer had some problems”.
• Fixed the bug called “SPDIF function couldn’t work for VIA audio controller, after system resumed from sleeping state”.

Setup:

• Suppressed the dialog of confirmation while the uninstallation is executed by “Add or Remove Programs”.
