Dell introduces tiltable touch monitor

Dell has released a new touchscreen monitor. The tiltable S2240T has a 21.5″ touchscreen with a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The screen can be tilted over an angle of 60°, but cannot be laid completely flat.

The S2240T should serve as a cheaper version of the S2340T but cannot be completely laid flat. The maximum achievable angle with the foot is 60°. Just like the S2340T, the touchscreen can recognize touches of up to ten fingers.

The 21.5″ VA panel of the S2240T offers a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The brightness is specified by Dell at 250cd/m² and the response time at 12ms. The contrast ratio is stated by the manufacturer as 3000:1, together with a horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 178°.

The S2240T is equipped with DVI-D, HDMI and VGA inputs, while a USB 2.0 connection is also available for passing on the touch data to the connected computer. The 5.8kg monitor has an average power consumption of 20W, according to Dell. The MSRP is $400.
