Erasmus Brosdau, art director at Crytek, has published the prologue to his short film ‘The Lord Inquisitor’ after six years of work. This one takes place in the universe of Warhammer 40k, the popular game from Games Workshop.

Brosdau writes on a specially designed website that he started the project in 2010, not knowing exactly where he wanted to work. It was more of a way to ‘test his skills and creativity’. The project quickly gained popularity and has now managed to amass 80,000 fans on Facebook.

A short teaser was released in 2011, showing the progress of the work. Now Brosdau publishes the nearly ten-minute prologue. The full twenty-minute film should then be released in 2017. The Crytek developer did not complete the project entirely on his own, with the help of a music composer, a 3D animator and a concept artist, among others.

The short film focuses on Inquisitor Marcus Allenbrisk, who has ambitions to become the next Lord Inquisitor. Inquisitors are divided into three orders and tasked with defending the empire against demonic threats.
