Cooler Master Announces CM Storm Sentinel Mouse with OLED Display
Cooler Master has added the Sentinel III to its CM Storm line of products for gamers. Compared to its predecessors, the high-end mouse has a new sensor and more memory. There is also an OLED screen that can show the dpi, among other things.
The palm grip is designed for right-handers and the housing is slightly larger than normal, according to the manufacturer, with a support for the little finger and thumb. Almost the entire mouse has a matte, rubber coating, which should ensure a good grip, only a small part of the top layer is made of mirrored plastic. The Sentinel III has eight buttons: left and right, the scroll wheel with small buttons in front of and next to it, and buttons on the side. Additional functions can be assigned to the buttons using the Storm TactiX component of Cooler Masters.
Cooler Master has used the optical Avago 3988 sensor with the third version of the Sentinel, which offers a sensitivity of 6400dpi. The user could easily switch from this sensitivity to 400, 1200 or 4000dpi. The Sentinel III has support for five macros that can be customized with the software. Under a cover at the bottom, Cooler Master has placed recesses for five weights of 4.5 grams each.
In the middle of the mouse is an OLED screen to show the dpi amount, with a separate part with a resolution of 32×32 pixels to display your own logo. The manufacturer has placed LEDs around this and the user can choose from 16.8 million colors for the lighting. Inside, an ARM soc in combination with 512KB of memory does its job when switching between macros and adjusting the lighting. The dimensions are 135×83.6x40mm and the weight is 155 grams. The length of the cable with USB 2.0 connection is 1.8 meters.
Cooler Master will deliver the mouse from December 1 for a suggested retail price of 59.90 euros.
