Code that XDA-Developers found in Android 10 indicates that the Pixel 4 will get a 90Hz screen. Earlier it was rumored that Google would put a 90Hz screen in its upcoming smartphone.

One of the files describes a toggle for 90Hz for ‘P19’ phones, XDA-Developers discovered. P19 probably stands for Pixel 2019. Since the Pixel 3a phones appeared with a traditional 60Hz screen, it must be the Pixel 4. Google has already put various details online.

It was previously rumored that both Pixel 4 phones would get a 90Hz screen. Several phones have already come out with such a screen. The best known of these is the OnePlus 7 Pro, but various game phones also have such a screen. Recent Xiaomi phones have a 60Hz screen, but can be overclocked to 81Hz via a mod. The Asus ROG Phone II has an OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.

At the end of July, Google also announced that it was integrating its Soli radar into its Pixel 4 smartphones. It should enable precise gesture control and facial recognition. It is also already known that the Titan M security chip that first appeared in the Pixel 3 will also end up in Google’s new Android smartphones. Google is expected to announce all the details about the Pixel 4 in October.
