It will be possible to transfer in-game content such as weapons and skins that players received in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II to Modern Warfare III. Publisher Activision has promised this.

Activision writes that players will be able to transfer “an enormous amount” of previously purchased Modern Warfare II content. This includes not only weapons and cosmetic items, but also Operators, bundles and ‘other rewards’ that have been unlocked. “We plan to make all Operators, weapons, blueprints and cosmetics accessible, as well as player level integration, access to Battle Passes and weapon upgrades,” the publisher explains in the message.

However, there will be exceptions, Activision reports. For example, skins from Modern Warfare II cannot be transferred for items not available in Modern Warfare III. The Wartracks music from the game is also not transferred. Transferring content also applies to the battle royale game Warzone.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was announced earlier this week and will be released on November 10. It is not yet known exactly which platforms the game will be released on. The previous title, Modern Warfare II, was released on Windows, and the current and previous generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
