Bungie, the studio behind Destiny, has appointed a new CEO. Chairman Harold Ryan resigned from his position on Wednesday. Bungie’s chief operating officer and member of the board of directors, Pete Parsons, will serve as CEO.

It is unknown what reasons Ryan has for stepping down from his position as chairman. Bungie has not announced whether he will leave the studio completely or take up another position. The man has worked for the company for fifteen years. Parsons, the new CEO of the studio, has expressed his thanks to the former chairman on the website.

The studio behind Destiny is increasingly criticized by players of the game. They often disagree with the decisions the studio makes. For example, the game’s subreddit has been renamed “Rahool’s Salt Emperium.” Rahool is a character known for giving players disappointing items. With the name change, the players show how they feel about the direction the game is taking.

Reports have also come out that the previously leaked September 2016 date for Destiny 2 will not be met. In order to provide the players with content, a team within Bungie is working on bringing updates throughout the rest of 2016.
