Bug leads to renaming third-party printers to HP printers in Windows

Windows 10 and Windows 11 users may encounter the unwanted installation of the HP Smart printer app. In addition, Windows then renames printers to HP printers, even if they are from other brands.

In installations that have the bug, printers are suddenly called HP LaserJet M101-M106. reports Microsoft. Furthermore, double-clicking on a printer icon results in an error message. The bug only occurs on installations using the Windows Store.
