Bethesda and Arkane Lyon announce Marvel’s Blade at The Game Awards 2023. The character Blade from the films and comics of the same name is central to the third-person single-player game, which is set in Paris. No release date has been announced yet.

The character Blade is based on the comic books of the same name, but the game contains a new story. There is a ‘supernatural emergency’ with vampires plaguing the people of Paris. Blade is half vampire himself, a so-called Daywalker, and takes on the role of vampire hunter for the inhabitants of the city. In the trailer, a revolver and grenades can be seen in addition to his signature silver sword, which could be an indication of the gameplay. In a blog post explains Bethesda explains that the single-player game is ‘mature’ and, unlike most Marvel games, is not intended for a younger audience.

Marvel’s Blade is in development at Arkane Lyon, the studio that previously created the Dishonored series and Deathloop. By the way, the recent Bethesda game Redfall was also about fighting vampires, but this game was developed by Arkane Austin. Redfall was widely criticized for technical flaws, an uninteresting story and uninteresting gameplay.
