Ayaneo is working on the first third-party PC handheld with SteamOS

Ayaneo has introduced the NEXT LITE, a PC gaming handheld running SteamOS. This makes Ayaneo the first PC handheld manufacturer to use Valve’s operating system, outside of Valve itself. The manufacturer does not yet share many details about the NEXT LITE.

The NEXT LITE is a must become a cheaper version of the previously released NEXT and, for example, shares the design of that earlier handheld. The LITE version also gets Hall effect joysticks. Furthermore, the handheld will have a 7″ screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and a 47Wh battery. Ayaneo does not yet share a price, but does say that ‘subscriptions’ for the handheld will be available on Friday. The NEXT costs almost 1200 excluding VAT. euros.
